In joining this program, all parents turn all control over to our organization and coaching staff. Parents will not be asked to assist in practice, drills, pregame, or contests. All our coaches are paid using team funds and have approved background checks. Our coaches have decades of combined experience at the high school, collegiate, and travel levels. and what you do.
. Payment plans are available and know that we NEVER want cost to deter you from joining us. Please know that every dollar of your team payment goes right back into the program to maximize your daughter's experience.
Once players reach 16U, we are willing to help players and families set up families with profiles on NCSA and Field Level, and check regularly to communicate with coaches from Universities. Furthermore, we provide information on combines for players to attend. However, families should know that there is an element of independence on behalf of players and families, but the coaching staff will gladly sit down and help families create plans for success. 14U players may begin building profiles, and are encouraged to reach out to coaching staff if they wish to start early.
At the Mill, we believe that a team will not reach its highest potential if its players are not fully committed. Our expectation is that players are attending every practice and every game. Players should have no Mill conflicts during High School season. Players participating in their Middle School programs will need to discuss conflicts with coaching staff. Mill athletes are not permitted to participate in house or park-ball leagues, nor are they permitted to commit to a secondary travel program.
We further expect that all families are making this commitment and will attend all practices, workouts, and events, understanding this to be a year-long process. We understand that players will miss for various excused reasons, but know that the more players miss, the more difficult it becomes for us to work as a team and maintain fairness in regards to playing time and expectations. All players are expected to be on time to all events, arriving 15 minutes prior.
The Mill inherently holds no expectations in regards to academics or conduct outside the program unless said conduct is detrimental to the program itself. However, athletes should be placing academics first. If a player is failing courses, we discourage attendance until their grades meet parental expectations. Further note, that we expect players to appropriately manage their time so that they can best attend both Mill events and maintain academic standing. Players will only be excused for non-optional academic events (SAT, College Visits, etc.)
You would not want your boss or a coworker yelling at you when you know you were doing your job to the best of your ability. Consider this in regards to our program. We have zero tolerance for parents that are disrespectful towards officials, coaches, other parents, and especially our student-athletes. Many parents expect their peers to conduct themselves as adults, support the girls and coaching staff, and remain positive on the sidelines. Families must understand that we thrive on positivity and support, and must work together as a community. We expect our parents to let our coaches coach, and keep their distance during practice and gameplay. A full outline of the parent code of conduct can be found HERE for prospective parents.
